A woman with brown hair and glasses smiling in front of library bookstacks

Lindsey Harrington

Six years ago, I found my life’s purpose in writing, and it has consumed me ever since. My current projects include a short story collection about breakups and a memoir about being childfree. I also recently (accidentally) started a novel featuring a seagull named Rigby. I write it all: fiction, nonfiction, and poetry.

I'm serious about, and dedicated to, my craft. In 2021, I won the Rita Joe Poetry Prize, and in 2022 I was shortlisted for the Budge Wilson Short Fiction Prize. I've since received grants from the Copyright Access Foundation, and Arts Nova Scotia to hone my writing further.

In my spare time, I love growing the local writing community. I am an active member of the Writers' Federation of Nova Scotia, and the Writers Alliance of Newfoundland and Labrador. I am also a founding member of the Tufts Cove Writers Collective and an organizer and host of Dart Speak--a monthly writers' open mic.

I live happily in Dartmouth, Nova Scotia with my husband and two dogs, enjoying all the free time a life without children allows, reading, writing, cycling, and skiing.
